Job summary

Pioneer PBS is seeking a Sponsorship Associate to lead corporate sponsorship efforts in a regional 45-county area. You will build relationships with businesses, close underwriting contracts for production and programming, and coordinate with production and traffic for spot placement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate sponsorship growth and manage relationships with a growing base of sponsors
  • Renew annual sponsorship contracts with internal and external sponsors
  • Develop sales collateral and streamline contract processing
  • Research prospective clients and maintain client records
  • Collaborate with production, programming, and traffic teams on sponsorship placement
  • Communicate with clients as UW runs close and ensure revenue goals are met
  • Travel within Pioneer PBS viewing area; nights/weekends as needed

The Sponsorship Associate provides project leadership and strategic planning needed to significantly execute the portion of the fundraising goals of the Development Department specific to corporate and production sponsorships. The Sponsorship Associate will create and maintain a system of revenue generation through the sale of program underwriting and viewer guide advertising.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Support Account Management
  • Corporate Sponsorship Growth
  • Build relationships with a growing number of businesses across a 45-county region serviced by Pioneer PBS
  • Close on underwriting contracts with new businesses for production support, run-of-schedule programming, and digital
  • Work collaboratively with the head of Production on spot creation and with Programming and Traffic on placement
  • Provide ongoing communication with clients as UW runs close
  • Meet budgeted revenue goals and margins
Annual Contract Renewals
  • Maintain relationships with a growing number of businesses across a 45-county region serviced by Pioneer PBS
  • Renew contracts with existing internal sponsors for production
  • Renew contracts with existing external sponsors for programming
  • Provide ongoing communication with clients as UW runs close
Collateral Materials/Tracking
  • Develop sales sheets for leave behind reminders of the value of partnership with Pioneer PBS and proof of price consistency. Review rates and benefits annually with leadership.
  • Streamline contract processing (from quotes to contracts to scheduling to invoicing to payment notification)
  • Research prospective clients
  • Maintain client records and create call reports

  • Accuracy and attention to detail in preparing contracts for broadcast, listings for program guide, print, web, and public file, and in working with colleagues on projects
  • An even temperament, even when working under tight deadlines
  • Requires travel throughout the Pioneer PBS viewing area, and will include nights and weekends on occasion. Use of a company vehicle is preferred for official travel

Location: Granite Falls, MN (hybrid onsite & remote)

Travel Required: Yes

Education: 2 to 4-year college degree (preferred) with an emphasis in philanthropy, marketing, sales, or business equivalent job experience.

Position Type: Full-time hourly plus commission
