Job Summary


Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students/SLICE Director, eachASOC Club Sports Trainer is responsible for the prevention,diagnosis, and treatment of muscle and bone injuries and relatedillnesses. The Trainer will apply protective or preventivedevices—such as tape, bandages, and braces, evaluate injuries andadminister first aid or emergency care as needed. Additionally, theTrainer will develop and implement comprehensive programs aimed atpreventing injuries and illnesses among ASOC Club Sportsparticipants. The role also includes administrative duties, such asmaintaining records and preparing reports on injuries and treatmentplans


Job Duties



  • 60% - Provide on-site support during practices, games, andtournaments by preventing, diagnosing, and treating muscle and boneinjuries and illnesses; ensure injury response equipment andsupplies are properly staged and readily available. -(Essential)

  • 30% - Develop and execute comprehensive injury and illnessprevention programs for ASOC Club Sports participants. -(Essential)

  • 10% - Perform administrative duties, including maintainingrecords and preparing reports on injuries and treatment programs. -(Essential)


Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED. Have/Obtain CPR and First Aidcertification.

  • One year of athletic training experience at the high schoollevel or in higher education.

  • Extensive knowledge of the identified sport, including rulesand regulations.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,PowerPoint), Google drives/folders/forms, Adobe Acrobat, WebEditing, and social media applications or any combination ofproductivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough;skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems andhandling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Strong commitment to a quality work product.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, inwriting and electronically.

  • Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability tocollaborate with a variety of constituencies. Demonstratedcommitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity.

  • Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing workeffectively in high-volume, high accountability, confidentialenvironment with multiple and changing priorities.

  • Effective organizational, logistical, time management andplanning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multipletasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functionsof an office in a timely manner.

  • Ability to provide effective leadership and training, and towork effectively and professionally across functions, disciplines,levels, and with diverse groups.


EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $18.42/hr. This position is not eligible for benefits.
