Job summary

American Wheatley is seeking an ASME welder for the second shift to assemble and weld custom bladder tanks, strainers, and valve products. You will work with Mig, Flux Core, Tig and Sub Arc to produce watertight welds to exact specifications.

Responsibilities include maintaining quality, reading blueprints, operating welding equipment, and ensuring safety on the shop floor. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered and forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding experience.
• Must pass an ASME weld test.
• Proven ability to safely operate a forklift (certified).
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures.
• Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics.
• Prior experience with material handling in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example with a Safety First mindset in every task.
• Weld products that perform within defined ASME tolerances.
• Complete assignments based on production needs.
• Understand procedures and processes for department.
• Collaborate with Production, Materials, Engineering and other plant functions to meet goals.
• Make adjustments to machines and conduct minor maintenance per schedule and specs.
• Maintain a high-quality manufacturing environment and suggest improvements.
• Complete all paperwork neatly and accurately.
• Verify workmanship quality by testing welds for quality and tolerance.
• Follow shop floor standards, PPE, part handling, equipment setup, and daily PM/5S.
• Additional duties as assigned.
