Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking an on-call, in-person ASL Interpreter for school-based support in Conroe, TX. The interpreter will ensure equitable access to education for deaf or hard-of-hearing students, working with families, teachers, and related service providers during meetings and conferences.

The role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, adherence to confidentiality, and familiarity with educational interpreting best practices.

Qualifications

• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
• DOJ/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance)
• RID certification required
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred/accepted
• Strong ASL fluency and ability to interpret in real-time academic settings

As a Sign Language Interpreter with Point Quest Group, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring equitable access to education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

What We’re Looking For:

Must Have

• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter or equivalent)
• Department of Justice/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance)
• RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification required
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred/accepted
• Strong ASL fluency and ability to interpret in real-time academic settings

Preferred

• Prior experience interpreting in a K-12 school setting
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational interpreting best practices
• Experience working with students with diverse learning and communication needs
