Safeway in Seattle is seeking a Chinese Food Cook to craft flavorful dishes by following family-style recipes, operating woks and ovens, and maintaining high presentation standards. You will prep ingredients, mix sauces, and ensure food safety throughout service.

You’ll keep prep areas clean, restock supplies, assist customers at the counter, and help the team deliver a consistent, high-quality dining experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• Prior food service or cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments, including kitchens, coolers, and freezers.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and company procedures.

A Day In The Life

As a Chinese Food Cook, you play a vital role in creating a fresh, flavorful, and enjoyable experience for every customer. You’ll prepare a variety of Chinese-inspired dishes by following recipes, ensuring high standards for quality, taste, and presentation. Your day includes cutting, chopping, and cooking ingredients using woks, ovens, and other kitchen equipment, as well as mixing sauces and seasoning dishes to perfection.

You’ll keep the food preparation area clean and organized, restock supplies from storage, and ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met. You may also assist customers at the counter, providing friendly and helpful service while answering questions about products. From preparing food to maintaining inventory and keeping the department running smoothly, you help deliver a consistent and high-quality experience.
