Job summary

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London seeks a Curator Botanist (Asia) to curate herbarium collections to a high standard, including processing acquisitions, mounting, and integrating specimens. You will identify Asia-collected samples and support research collaborations aligned with Kew’s science strategy.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level with proven background in a similar role.
• Experience with natural history collections is essential.
• Practical herbarium curation experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with Curators and Researchers.

Responsibilities

• Curate herbarium collections to a high standard.
• Process new acquisitions and specimens prior to mounting.
• Incorporate specimens and oversee sampling where needed.
• Work with ICMS and other collection management tools.
• Facilitate access for visitors from around the world.
• Identify Asia-collected specimens for study and records.
• Undertake collection-based research and research collaborations.
