Job summary

Saving Sight in Missouri is seeking a mission-driven laboratory technician to process Autologous Serum Eye Drops for patients nationwide. This full-time role requires meticulous data handling and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing blood components in a laminar flow hood, packaging finished products for distribution, maintaining equipment, and documenting all processes while complying with HIPAA and state regulations.

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 9:30a.m. - 6:00p.m. & Saturday 9:00a.m. - 5:30p.m.

Compensation: $19.43 per hour + Great Benefits

This mission-centered role is responsible for processing Autologous Serum Eye Drops for patients while ensuring accurate and complete data. The position directly supports Saving Sight's mission by providing life-changing products to patients nationwide.

Responsibilities:

• Handle and process blood products in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
• Prepare blood components within a laminar flow hood using aseptic techniques.
• Package and prepare finished products for distribution and shipment.
• Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, HIPAA, and all federal and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all processes and activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills .
• Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, with limited direction, and in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, general database systems, and web-based applications .
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism .

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Hepatitis B vaccination, or documented declination is required prior to performing duties.

Preferred Requirements:

• Prior work experience in a laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques for handling and processing blood samples.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent periods of intense concentration .
• Capability to extend armsand maintain extended position while handling materials andkeepingproperposture.
• Sit or stand for extended periods while performing detailedandrepetitive tasks.
• Perform continuous fine hand manipulation requiringprecision,coordination, and a high degree of manual dexterity.
• Use of foot pedals as required to operate equipment.
• Regular useofa computerfor communication, documentation, and data entry.
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50poun ds.
• Work performed in a fast-paced laboratoryenvironment , including working independently in a clean room setting .
• Regular exposure to cold working conditions within the laboratory .
• Position includes frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
