Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate in Fremont to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet high safety and quality standards. You will collaborate with a team, work across both domestic and foreign vehicles, and uphold customer trust through meticulous service.

In this role, you will follow EHS guidelines, maintain a clean workspace, and support quick, effective solutions for technical challenges. CarMax supports training and growth in a climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications as applicable if state/local law requires.
