Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety, reliability, and performance standards. You will work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility and gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong health and safety compliance knowledge.
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Effective multitasking and clear communication.
• Valid driver’s license; ASE certifications as specified by state/local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax quality standards.
• Collaborate with team to address technical challenges quickly.
• Gain hands-on experience with domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow EH&S guidelines.
