Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) in Pensacola, FL. You will perform essential repairs on a diverse fleet, including oil, brakes, suspension, and routine maintenance, with on-the-job training to expand ASE credentials.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer readiness, requiring hands‑on mechanics, a valid license, and the ability to work on-site in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles.
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.
• Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage

Responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles.
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work as you build your skills.
• Contribute to vehicle reliability and safety to reduce downtime and ensure vehicles are ready for customers.
