Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, and recondition vehicles, from engines to suspension and brakes, in a climate-controlled facility. You’ll contribute to delivering safe, reliable cars and work with a team that values integrity and customer trust.

We offer ongoing training, access to advanced tools, and a supportive environment designed for growth. External candidates are eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications required (A1–A8) in engine repair, transmission, drive train, suspension, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and engine performance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax's safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with a team to resolve technical challenges quickly and effectively.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
