Job summary

The Lansing School District is seeking a Specialized Assistant to support students in the ASD Resource Room at Dwight Rich. The position focuses on one-on-one and small group instruction, working with teachers to ensure student engagement and safety, and communicating with families.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate's Degree, 60 college credits, or passing the ETS Paraprofessional Exam. The role is 7 hours per day at 0.875 FTE, with a salary of $21.42–$25.66 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits or proof of passing ETS Paraprofessional Exam.
• Experience with students in small group or RTI settings preferred.
• Desire to become a certified teacher long term.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate passion for working with students, especially one-on-one and in small groups.
• Prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders.
• Ensure safety of students on caseload.
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from leaders, colleagues, students and PD sessions.
• Build relationships with students and parents to create a safe, welcoming learning environment.
• Other duties to support Lansing School District mission.
