Regions Bank, through its Ascentium Capital division, seeks a Credit Analyst to evaluate commercial loan applications and annual reviews for diverse clients nationwide. You will analyze complex credit information, prepare reports, and support credit policy development with senior leadership.

The role requires 7+ years in underwriting or related fields, a business/finance degree, and strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance or related field.
7+ years of commercial/bank underwriting or related experience.
Experience with credit models and underwriting training preferred.

Responsibilities

Reviews and analyzes complex credit information to make decisions per policies.
Prepares and submits accurate credit reports and documentation timely.

Job Description

At Ascentium Capital, the Credit Analyst evaluates commercial loan applications for new loan transactions as well as for processing annual loan reviews on existing borrowers.

Primary Responsibilities

Reviews and analyzes complex credit information in order to make appropriate credit decisions within established policies and regulations
Initiates, completes, and submits accurate credit-related reports and documentation on a timely basis in accordance with established business processes and assists the origination channels in achieving business goals and objectives
Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of uniform credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and enhance external and internal customer satisfaction
Orders and reviews loan documentation and researches any issues as needed
Gathers and maintains financial background information on present and prospective customers and develops credit studies for loan officers and committees as needed
Develops, implements, and maintains uniform credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and enhance external and internal customer satisfaction
Works closely with the senior executives on all business opportunities and issues related to credit policies and credit decisions
Coordinates communication between the sales team, potential customers, and the review committee on credit, underwriting, and funding related issues
Works in conjunction with the appropriate managers and executives to support each business units' performance goals and service standards
Provides recommendations and feedback regarding continuous improvement opportunities
Works under limited supervision following established guidelines and procedures
Provides advice and guidance to junior specialists as needed

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
Seven (7) years of experience in commercial/bank underwriting or related experience

Preferences

Experience with Fair Isaac credit models
Completion of a formal bank underwriting training

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
