Job summary

Centers for Advanced Urology is seeking an ASC Registered Nurse (RN) to assess patient health problems, develop care plans, and maintain medical records in our outpatient clinic.

You will administer nursing care, coordinate with the healthcare team, prepare rooms and supplies, document in the EMR, and educate patients while upholding HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• RN license required; BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• 1-2 years clinical experience; urology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient problems to determine disposition.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The ASC Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records. The ASC RN administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients in the ASC clinic setting.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES

• Assesses patient problems both in the office and on the phone, to determine disposition of patient.
• Facilitates patient care and documents all communication into the electronic medical record (EMR) .
• Communicates physician treatment plan including lab/imaging results to patients and documents appropriately within the EMR.
• Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepares rooms, steriles instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained.
• Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Instructs individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education and disease prevention. Develops health improvement programs.
• Prepare and administer medications per written provider order.
• Performs other position related duties as assigned.
• Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS

• RN license and certification as required by state.
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
