Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Asbestos Inspector role based in South Florida. The Asbestos Inspector will conduct field inspections and surveys to identify, document, and assess asbestos-containing materials in commercial, industrial, and residential properties, following applicable regulations and company standards. Daily responsibilities include collecting samples, coordinating laboratory analysis, interpreting results, and preparing clear inspection reports and recommendations for clients and project teams. The role involves collaborating with environmental and engineering staff, maintaining accurate records, and supporting project planning and abatement design with reliable data. The Asbestos Inspector will also help ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, and may participate in client meetings and training activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong Environmental Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) knowledge, with the ability to apply regulatory standards to asbestos inspection work.
• Demonstrated Health & Safety awareness, including adherence to safe work practices and use of appropriate personal protective equipment in field settings.
• Proficiency in Inspection activities, including building surveys, sample collection, documentation, and report preparation for asbestos-containing materials.
• Experience in Training or willingness to participate in and deliver health, safety, and regulatory training related to asbestos and hazardous materials.
• State-required asbestos inspector certification or license (or eligibility to obtain), and familiarity with federal, state, and local asbestos regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, building plans, and technical specifications.
• Strong observational, analytical, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in field notes and reports.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to project sites, including work in varied environmental conditions.
• Preferred: Experience in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, or related field, and relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
