Job summary

Precision Abatement, LLC in Tumwater, WA is seeking an Asbestos Technician. Base pay is $26.00/hr with potential increases for experience and certifications.

This is a full‑time, on‑site role supporting mitigation and environmental teams at residential and commercial sites. You will perform asbestos removal under supervision, maintain containment systems, use HEPA and other abatement equipment, and adhere to safety and regulatory procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Asbestos Worker Certification Card.
• Current medical clearance and respirator fit test, or ability to obtain and maintain both.
• Active Washington State driver’s license.
• Ability to meet the requirements necessary to be added to the company’s motor vehicle insurance policy.
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with applicable law.
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform asbestos removal and general abatement activities under the direction of an Asbestos Supervisor.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining regulated work areas, containments, and decontamination systems.
• Use approved wet methods, HEPA equipment, negative‑air machines, hand tools, and other abatement equipment.
• Safely remove and handle asbestos‑containing materials and waste.
• Follow required personal and equipment decontamination procedures.
• Properly inspect, wear, and maintain assigned personal protective equipment and respiratory protection.
• Keep job sites, tools, vehicles, and equipment clean and organized.
• Protect customer property and maintain a professional presence at every job site.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete required job documentation.
• Follow company procedures and all applicable OSHA, EPA, Washington State L&I, and DOSH requirements.
• Perform other abatement, demolition, cleanup, and field duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous asbestos‑abatement, demolition, restoration, or construction experience
• OSHA and other environmental or construction certifications

Work Environment & Schedule

• Full‑time position starting at 7:30 a.m. each day
• Work performed at residential and commercial job sites across the region
• Fast‑paced, hands‑on field environment
• Mix of indoor and outdoor work settings
• Job sites may include hot, humid, confined, or otherwise challenging spaces
• Regular use of protective gear, respirators, and regulated work areas
• Frequent teamwork and communication with supervisors and crew members
• Occasional overtime, weekend work, or adjusted schedules based on project needs
