This role may also assist with remediation of other environmental hazards such as mold and lead when required.Technicians must strictly adhere to company policies as well as OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Work is performed both independently and as part of a team to complete projects efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in helping customers, and can effectively maintain safety and quality standards throughout environmental remediation projects.Duties & ResponsibilitiesInspect job sites to identify and assess asbestos and other hazardous materialsPrepare containment areas, negative air systems, and decontamination zones to prevent cross-contaminationSafely remove, encapsulate, transport, and dispose of asbestos-containing materials using approved techniquesPerform asbestos abatement and environmental remediation services according to federal, state, OSHA, EPA, and company regulationsFollow all OSHA, EPA, and local regulations related to hazardous material handling and disposalWear, maintain, and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratorsConduct or assist with air monitoring and clearance testing as requiredDecontaminate work areas, tools, and equipment after project completionMaintain accurate daily logs, safety reports, project notes, and compliance documentationCommunicate project progress, safety concerns, and material needs to supervisors and team membersAssist with equipment setup, material pickups, inventory control, and site cleanupOperate HEPA vacuums, negative air machines, air scrubbers, and other environmental remediation equipmentWork with power tools and perform demolition as required throughout projectsEstablish and maintain schedules to ensure services are completed efficiently and on timeCommunicate professionally with customers regarding scope of work, timelines, and job expectationsMaintain company vehicles, tools, and assigned equipment to ensure operational readinessParticipate in ongoing industry training, certification renewals, and medical monitoring programsEducate clients or occupants on safety measures when appropriateParticipate in emergency response and on-call rotations as business demands requireTravel throughout state with potential overnight stays when needed to support operationsCross-train in related environmental and restoration services including mold remediation and demolition supportPerform additional operational duties and project support tasks as assignedRequirements & SkillsPrevious experience in asbestos abatement, construction, demolition, restoration, or environmental services preferredState or federal asbestos certification/licensing preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hireKnowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and hazardous material handling procedures preferredStrong understanding of PPE usage, respirator safety, containment procedures, and environmental remediation practicesFamiliarity with hand tools, power tools, and industrial remediation equipmentStrong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures preciselyAbility to work independently while also thriving in a team environmentPositive attitude with strong work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleevesEmpathy, professionalism, and strong customer service skillsEagerness to learn and grow within the environmental and restoration industryStrong verbal and written communication skillsComfortable working in fast-paced and physically demanding environmentsValid Driver’s License with a clean driving recordAbility to pass a drug test, extensive background screening, and any required medical clearances for respirator usageAbility to lift and/or move up to 100 poundsComfortable standing, walking, climbing, bending, working at elevated heights, and working in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics while wearing PPE and respiratorsComfortable working around demolition debris, hazardous materials, and varying environmental conditionsAbility to work overtime, participate in on-call rotations, and travel statewide as neededAdvanced Skills (Preferred)Previous asbestos abatement field experienceFirst Aid and CPR CertificationBilingual communication skills (English/Spanish)Experience with industrial remediation equipment and containment systemsKnowledge of environmental remediation documentation and compliance standardsWhy Join Peerless Environmental?At Peerless Environmental, we believe in investing in our employees and creating long-term career opportunities.
