Job summary

VLink Inc in the United States is seeking a senior RPG/RPGLE developer to design, develop, and support applications on IBM iSeries. The role requires 8+ years of combined experience and strong knowledge of RPG, CL, and embedded SQL, with a focus on quality and performance.

You will implement solutions through SDLC, collaborate with business and technology teams, produce clear technical documentation, and work with Aldon Life Cycle Manager or similar tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting RPG/RPGLE in an IBM iSeries environment.
• Experience implementing solutions through all SDLC phases with focus on quality and performance.
• Advanced knowledge of RPG and CL.
• Experience with Aldon Life Cycle Manager or similar change-management tool.
• Experience with embedded SQL in RPG and SQL basics.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Retail Exp Mandatory

8+ years of combined experience designing, developing, and supporting applications using RPG/RPGLE in an IBM iSeries systems environment.

Implement technical solutions through analysis, design, development, QA and production, using the development standards and adhering to the SDLC. Focus is on high productivity and quality of code. Solutions implemented must have adequate error handling and meet performance standards.

Advanced level knowledge of RPG and CL.

Experience with Aldon Life Cycle Manager or similar change management software.

Working knowledge of structured query language and embedded SQL in RPG.

Work with a variety of business and technology teams to ensure that technical solutions meet overall business requirements and technical standards.

Ability to write clear, concise, and logical technical documentation.

Strong in both Oral and Written communication.

Nice to have:

Knowledge in Web service calls, XML and JSON.

Handling AS400 job related issues.

Onsite/offshore experience.
