Job summary

Porsche Center Fort Worth is seeking an Automotive Technical Trainer to lead hands-on workshops and classroom sessions for Porsche Center personnel and internal teams in Fort Worth, TX. The role combines diagnostics, repair knowledge, and teaching to elevate technician capabilities.

The ideal candidate has extensive automotive experience, strong presentation skills, and the ability to translate complex concepts into practical training. Travel domestic and international is required.

Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of hands-on automotive mechanical experience.
  • College degree or certificate in Automotive Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of modern automotive technology, diagnostics, repair, and vehicle systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to confidently present technical information to experienced automotive professionals.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with multiple teams.
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical training classes for Porsche Center personnel and internal employees.
  • Deliver training using established curriculum and standards.
  • Develop and update training materials based on latest vehicle tech and repair procedures.
  • Research and incorporate current technical information from Porsche Partner Network.
  • Maintain knowledge of technical issues and communicate updates to technicians.
  • Create training aids, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
  • Maintain student records and training results in PALMS.
  • Support development and administration of Certified Porsche Technician tests.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles used for training.
  • Perform vehicle audits and verification of operations.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support, Field Personnel, Tool & Equipment teams.
  • Provide reports on training activity and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain professional training environment aligned with Porsche standards.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

Contract: 12 months with possible extension

Employment Status: Exempt; this position is not eligible for overtime

Are you an experienced Master Automotive Technician who enjoys sharing your knowledge and helping other technicians become better at what they do?

We are seeking an Automotive Technical Trainer to join a leading automotive organization in Fort Worth, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to combine hands-on technical expertise, advanced vehicle knowledge, and classroom training while supporting Porsche Center personnel and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into effective, hands-on learning experiences.

Porsche experience is highly preferred, particularly candidates with Porsche technician experience or ZPT Gold Technician credentials.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct technical training classes for Porsche Center personnel and internal employees.
  • Deliver training using established curriculum, technical standards, and training methodologies.
  • Help develop and update technical training materials based on the latest vehicle technology, technical information, and repair procedures.
  • Research and incorporate current technical information from Porsche Partner Network resources and other technical systems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technical issues and communicate updates effectively to technicians.
  • Develop training aids, demonstrations, and hands-on learning activities.
  • Maintain accurate student records and training results within the Porsche Academy Learning Management System (PALMS).
  • Support the development and administration of Certified Porsche Technician written and practical testing.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles used for technical training.
  • Perform vehicle audits, product familiarization, and operational verification.
  • Work closely with Technical Support, Field Personnel, Tool & Equipment teams, and Porsche Center technicians.
  • Provide reports and feedback regarding training activities and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain a professional, organized training environment consistent with Porsche standards and values.
  • Travel domestically and internationally periodically as business needs require.
What We're Looking For
Required
  • 6-8+ years of hands-on automotive mechanical experience
  • College degree or certificate in Automotive Technology
  • Strong knowledge of modern automotive technology, diagnostics, repair, and vehicle systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to confidently present technical information to experienced automotive professionals
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple teams
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred
  • Porsche ZPT Gold Technician certification
  • Previous automotive technical training or instructor experience
  • Experience developing technical training materials or curriculum
  • OEM/dealership training experience
  • Experience with CAD, 3D software, animation, or technical visualization tools
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience

The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move 50+ pounds, as well as work around vehicle equipment, mechanical components, fumes, vibration, and elevated noise levels.

The position requires 2-3 days per week onsite in Fort Worth, TX, with periodic domestic and international travel.
