Job summary

METRIX IT SOLUTIONS INC is seeking an experienced professional to lead AS400/iSeries modernization efforts in a Charlotte, NC-based role. You will drive development, support, and enhancement of legacy systems using ILE, COBOL, RPGLE, CLLE, and QS36 within IBM DB2 environments.

Applicants should have strong Unix/Linux scripting skills and experience with IBM MQ and XML integration, enabling seamless messaging workflows in hybrid legacy-modern architectures.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of AS400/iSeries-based application development, support and enhancements.
• 6+ years COBOL & AS400/iSeries architecture using ILE with IBM DB2.
• 5+ years ILE modernization and AS400 performance optimization.
• 3+ years IBM Liberty & WebSphere in hybrid legacy-modern architectures.
• Unix/Linux proficiency (scripting, job control).
• Expertise in IBM MQ and XML integration.
• Ability to architect scalable, high-performance systems bridging legacy and modern platforms.

• 9+ years of AS400/iSeries-based application development, support and enhancement experience
• 6+ years COBOL & AS400/iSeries architecture using ILE (COBOL, RPGLE, CLLE, QS36) + IBM DB2 (SQL, SPs, query optimization, green screen) with deep legacy modernization expertise
• 5+ years’ experience in ILE modernization & AS400 performance optimization, including refactoring, tuning, and production stability
• 3+ years of strong experience with IBM Liberty (WebSphere Liberty) & WebSphere in hybrid legacy-modern architectures
• Advanced Unix/Linux proficiency (scripting, job control, cross-platform support)
• Expertise in IBM MQ (ILE MQ Series) & XML integration, including SSIS-based messaging workflows
• Proven ability to architect scalable, high-performance, mission-critical systems bridging legacy and modern platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, refine, and convert business requirements into functional requirements and working production code
