Job description

Our client is a leading company in its sector with a global presence. A recent change in ownership has triggered a rebrand, and we need a Packaging Lead to drive this initiative.

Primary Purpose of the role
  • Manage graphical and physical redesign projects across the packaging portfolio.
  • Provide end‑to‑end packaging solutions to Marketing and R&D teams, from approved creative concepts to full commercialization of designs.
  • Manage packaging design for the 1100 SKUs undergoing company redesign.
  • Oversee artwork amendment, repro design, and studio work.
  • Handle ownership, licences, and development of a new brand identity.
  • Set up a master artwork management system.
  • Deliver packaging for the NPD pipeline, developing 10‑12 projects over an 18‑month cycle plan.
  • Lead packaging development for the first launch of a design, collaborating with local teams, agencies, and suppliers.
Key Accountabilities
  • Partner with designated agencies to develop creative concepts and create all components of commercial packaging design, selecting materials, print finishes and structural layouts.
  • Develop, define and establish successful conversion of packaging designs on a global scale within varying technical constraints across the global supply base.
  • Provide technical solutions for consistent deployment of designs in all regions and efficient transfer of technological know‑how between converters and deployment teams.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Brand groups to define quality criteria for new packaging designs aligned with marketing expectations.
  • Support procurement in supplier selection, qualification and capability building.
  • Identify industry trends and new enablers in materials, construction and production processes.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Sound technical knowledge with a design background.
  • Appreciation of regulatory requirements around packaging.
  • In‑depth knowledge of print, material conversion, industry trends and standard methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable in both technical and marketing environments.
  • Understanding of marketing principles and strategies for international brands.
  • Ability to chair a diverse group of internal partners and lead discussions with external suppliers.
  • Graduate or equivalent, preferably in a technical field.
  • Excellent oral, written, influencing, and collaborative partnership skills.
  • Effective listening, flexibility, strong work ethic, strategic thinking, and ability to handle a heavy workload.
  • Sound business judgment, attention to detail, learning agility, high energy.
  • Creative thinking combined with strategic and analytical skills.
