Job summary

Evergreen Life Services is seeking an Art Supervisor to implement art projects and provide direct support to people served. The role reports to the Executive Director and is non-exempt.

You will learn and teach diverse art techniques, manage visual elements, and build relationships with vendors to promote artworks while engaging with festivals and community events.

Qualifications

• Experience in guiding art projects and supervising teams in a nonprofit setting.
• Ability to learn and teach various art techniques (sewing, ceramics, glass) and work with diverse materials.
• Proven ability to manage multiple art/design elements and projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health and welfare of individuals supervised and assist individuals, encourage creativity and teach techniques.
• Plan and execute art, design and other visual elements.
• Develop and nurture relationships with vendors/consignment agencies to facilitate artwork sales.
• Engage with art festivals and venues to showcase works and enroll in events.

Position Description:

Art Supervisor

Reports To: Executive Director

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Job Summary

Responsible for implementing art projects and designs. Additionally, providing direct support to people served.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure the health and welfare of the individuals supervised and assist individuals, encourage creativity and teach techniques.


• Must have the ability to learn various art genres and design skills (e.g. sewing, ceramics, glass) and learn to work with numerous materials in order to teach a range of art and design styles.


• Plan and execute art, design and other visual elements.


• Develop and nurture strong relationships with vendors and consignment agencies to facilitate the sale of individual artworks.


• Actively engage with art festivals and other relevant venues to showcase and promote artistic works. This includes identifying, attending, and enrolling in events that support the work of the individuals.


• Teach hands-on activities and demonstrations.


• Possess "can do" attitude, innate sensibility for quality customer service, and a positive upbeat personality


• Provide thorough and detail-oriented quality to all work.


• Ability to introduce a variety of new art or craft techniques.


• Complete all required documentation in accordance with applicable state agency(ies) and


• Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries, Inc. policies and procedures


• Implement behavioral and other programs as trained and requested.


• Assist individuals with their goals as outlined in their plan of care document(s).


• Identify potential behavior triggers and defuse or redirect as needed to ensure safety and well-being of all involved.


• Administer medication as needed.

Qualifications/Experience/Job Knowledge

• High School diploma. Some college preferred and/or prior art training or class work in a recognized art program.


• Bachelor's degree in an art-related field required.


• Ability to learn basic computer skills (i.e., turn on/off, log in/out, input data, approve timesheet).


• Prior work in a non-profit atmosphere and experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are preferred.


• A combination of education and experience will be considered.


• Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly moves about to coordinate work.


• Regularly works in a fast-paced environment with multiple task deadlines.


• Regularly moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.


• Working knowledge of Google Workspace.


• Aptitude to learn other software programs as required for this position.

Employment Variables

• Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation.


• Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.


• Availability for evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
