Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Program Specialist to develop and manage Arts in Medicine programs, creating an environment of creativity for patients and families during the hospital experience. You will engage children, families, and staff through interactive art, music, and sensory experiences.

Qualifications include 1 year in a nonprofit/healthcare setting with children, a bachelor's degree in a related art field, and BLS plus CPI certifications. Prior pediatric healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year in a non-profit and/or healthcare environment with children and families.
• 2 years’ Experience in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related art field; Coursework in Child Development preferred.
• License/Certification: BLS certification through the American Heart Association and CPI Training.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages special programs such as the Arts in Medicine program which provides a creative environment and opportunities for patients and families to participate in creative and sensory activities.
• Encourages and engages children, families, and staff through interactive art, music, visual, or sensory experiences.
• Mentors and supervises volunteers assisting with the activities.
