YMCA Camp Greenville on the Blue Ridge Mountains seeks a creative Arts & Crafts Coordinator to lead activities for all ages in Hill Skills, the arts and crafts space. You will generate engaging projects and supervise campers and staff during cabin rotations and activity periods.

During the summer, you will manage materials, help decorate the dining hall for weekly theme dinners, and model camp values with enthusiasm, safety, and teamwork for a diverse group of participants.

Formación

• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification by June 2027.
• Must be 18 years old or older or graduated high school by June 2027.
• Preferred: Background or interest in art and teaching.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver arts & crafts activities for all age groups in Hill Skills.
• Manage materials and decorate the dining hall for weekly theme weeks.
• Support cabin leader staff when not in program area and fill in for cabin leaders at times.
• Uphold camp values and act as a role model with integrity, creativity, and safety in mind.
• Assist with camp’s special events and decorations for theme weeks.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers and mandatory reporting requirements.

Camp Greenville is an overnight camp established in 1912 that hosts boys and girls from throughout the region and the world for summer camps, retreats and specialty camps. You will get to experience what the great outdoors of Western North Carolina and South Carolina have to offer.

YMCA Camp Greenville is looking for a cause-driven leader to fulfill the role of the Arts & Crafts Coordinator. This person will lead arts & crafts activities for all age groups in our arts & crafts building we refer to as Hill Skills. They will come up with fun and creative projects for our campers and allow them to express their creativity in a variety of media. During the summer, this person will manage all materials in the arts and crafts area and will also have the responsibility of decorating our dining hall on Friday evenings for our weekly theme dinner. This person would bring a passion to creative expression and have a great sense of organization.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering supply needs to Program Coordinator, scheduling and implementing creative projects and classes for cabin rotation and truddy time, teaching skills and supervising campers and staff while in Hill Skills (the arts and crafts building).
• Responsible for helping with camp’s special events and decorations for theme weeks.
• Management of supplies and program space (includes management of groups of campers and staff)
• Ability to work with participants of all backgrounds.
• Support cabin leader staff when not in program area and fill in for cabin leaders at times.
• Serve as a role model, upholding our camp values, and working with integrity, creativity, and safety in mind at all times.
• Responsible for the health and well-being of the campers mentally, emotionally, and physically, during their time at camp
• Must approach responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.

Other Responsibilites

• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
• Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
• Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
• Follow mandated reporting requirements
• Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification by June 2027.
• Must be 18 years old or older or graduated high school by June 2027.

Preferred:

• Background or interest in art and teaching.
• Any specific artistic skill (Ex: pottery, drawing, painting, etc.)
