Job summary

Radford University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Communications Officer to lead the college's web and social media presence and support department publicity and recruitment efforts.

You will collaborate with the dean and staff on program publicity, social media, press releases, and events, while managing multiple projects with strong writing, CMS, and design skills. This exempt, 40-hour/week role offers growth in arts communications.

Qualifications

• Combination of education/training and experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, web design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Arts Administration, English, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, AI, or content management.
• Experience creating written, visual, and digital communications for diverse audiences.
• Experience managing websites and web content using a content management system (CMS).
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Experience with social media platforms and social media management tools.
• Experience with graphic design software and digital content creation.
• Experience with AI
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
• Recommended Experience: 3-5 years of professional communications, marketing, public relations, or digital media experience, preferably in higher education, arts administration, or a cultural organization.
