Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Cannon Crewmember to operate howitzers, identify targets, and apply fire direction data in real-world missions. You will gain hands-on artillery skills and contribute to battlefield readiness.

Training starts with Basic Training (10 weeks) and Advanced Individual Training (7 weeks). Earn while you learn with a paycheck and access to tuition assistance and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must meet physical requirements and pass a physical exam
• Enlistment in the Army National Guard
• Ages 17–35
• Citizenship as required by NATIONALGUARD.com

Responsibilities

• Conducting wire and radio communications
• Identifying target locations
• Setting, loading, and firing artillery
• Using computers to generate fire direction data
• Operating heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
• Participate in reconnaissance operations
