Job summary

Archer, collaborating with MANTECH, seeks a motivated Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on integrating with the FBI’s AI tooling, deploying a modular agentic AI architecture, and advancing the security posture of government-scale systems.

You will implement IaC, wrap genAI capabilities around foundation models, and build RAG-enabled repositories with guardrails. A TS/SCI clearance and deep cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in computer science, business management, or IT related discipline.
• 15+ years experience with 12 years cloud experience, or Master’s degree and 10 years cloud experience.
• Familiarity with generative AI engineering tools, vector databases, Python AI libraries, orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar) and cloud-native infrastructure automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and extend core frameworks: integrate with and extend the FBI’s AI Tool using an installable, modular, and proven agentic AI architecture.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): utilize IaC templates to rapidly compose, configure, and test the agentic system within the FBI’s cloud enclave or hardware footprint.
• Deploy Generative AI and foundation models: wrap agentic capabilities around the Bureau’s selected genAI foundation model for a scalable framework across use-cases.
• Engineer advanced RAG store capabilities: build and maintain modular Retrieval Augmented Generation capabilities with authoritative repositories to guard against AI slop and enforce guardrails.
• Adopt, incorporate, and enhance existing prototype logic into the Agentic Framework to support automated security control reviews.
• Deliver fully operational engineering guidance tools to shift security left and minimize missed security features before the SAA process.

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career, and client-oriented Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Integrate and Extend Core Frameworks: Integrate with and extend the capabilities of the FBI’s AI Tool using an installable, modular, and proven agentic AI architecture.


• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Utilize infrastructure-as-code templates to rapidly compose, configure, and test the agentic system and its tools within the FBI’s designated cloud enclave or hardware footprint.


• Deploy Generative AI & Foundation Models: Wrap agentic capabilities around the Bureau’s selected generative AI (genAI) foundation model to deliver a reliable, extensible, and scalable framework across multiple use-cases.


• Engineer Advanced RAG Store Capabilities: Build and maintain modular, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)–enhanced capabilities, integrating authoritative repositories to guard against \"AI slop\" and enforce system guardrails.


• Adopt, incorporate, and progressively enhance existing prototype logic into the Agentic Framework to support automated security control reviews, helping to optimize assessment pass rates for SCAs and ISSMs.


• Implement and deliver fully operational engineering guidance tools to \"shift security left,\" minimizing the risk of missing security features prior to the formal SAA process.


• Configure authoring agents that enable cross-functional teams to develop cell-based, first-draft security control implementation statements derived from existing engineering documentation and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in computer science, business management, or IT related discipline.


• 15+ years experience with 12 years’ cloud experience, or Master’s degree and 10 years cloud experience.


• Familiarity with the use, operation, and integration of generative AI engineering tools, vector databases, Python AI libraries, orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar agentic software platforms), and cloud-native infrastructure automation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hold at least one of the following certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, AZ-300/301: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Google – Professional Cloud Architect.

Clearance Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret /SCI and be willing and able to obtain a polygraph.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.


• Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.


• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
