Job summary

Xcede is seeking a Senior Cloud Data & AI Architect to lead enterprise-scale data modernization and GenAI initiatives. You will design cloud data platforms, Lakehouse architectures, and data products, working with senior business and technology stakeholders across regulated environments.

The role requires deep expertise in Snowflake, Databricks, data governance, and AI/GenAI capabilities, plus hands-on delivery across AWS/Azure/GCP.

Salary: $150,000 - $175,000 annually

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Data & AI Architect to lead enterprise-scale data modernization and AI transformation initiatives across complex, highly regulated environments. This role will focus on designing cloud data platforms, Lakehouse architectures, data products, and next-generation AI and GenAI solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Data Architecture, Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, Data Governance, and AI/GenAI with the ability to work directly with senior business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data platform modernization initiatives, including migration from on-premise environments to cloud.
• Architect scalable data lakes, Lakehouse platforms, streaming systems, and enterprise data products.
• Design and implement data integration and pipeline architectures supporting batch, real-time, and big data workloads.
• Develop and implement Snowflake and Databricks solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Define enterprise data and AI strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Establish data governance frameworks covering data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Define architectural guardrails, reusable patterns, templates, and reference architectures.
• Drive adoption of Data Mesh and Medallion Architecture principles across enterprise data organizations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Design and implement AI and GenAI solutions across the data value chain.
• Architect agentic AI ecosystems using LLMs, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, and CrewAI.
• Design RAG pipelines incorporating memory, context management, retrieval, and tool usage.
• Develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) architectures to connect reasoning, retrieval, and action capabilities.
• Design Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication and orchestration patterns for multi-agent workflows.
• Establish responsible AI frameworks and architectural standards for enterprise AI adoption.
• Review technical designs and elevate architectural practices across engineering and data teams.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 15–20+ years of experience across data architecture, data engineering, analytics platforms, and enterprise technology.
• Strong experience leading large-scale data and cloud transformation programs within banking, financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries.
• Hands‑on expertise with Snowflake and Databricks, including Lakehouse architecture.
• Strong understanding of Data Mesh, Data Products, and Medallion Architecture.
• Deep experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud data services.
• Strong background in enterprise data integration, big data, streaming, analytics, and reporting platforms.
• Experience establishing enterprise data governance, quality, metadata, and lineage frameworks.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with Python and modern AI/GenAI technologies.
• Experience with OpenAI APIs, Anthropic Claude, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
• Understanding of MCP, RAG, ReAct, agentic AI, A2A orchestration, tool calling, and agent memory strategies.
• Experience with MLOps and enterprise AI/ML pipelines.
• Strong consulting, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
