Job summary

New Directions Technologies Inc. is seeking a security-cleared AI engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications. The role requires US citizenship and the ability to work onsite with potential TS clearance.

You will integrate AI into enterprise systems and manage secure cloud infrastructure while ensuring compliance with privacy and governance. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3 years of related experience, plus CompTIA Security+

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required and TS clearance may be required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with CS focus.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications using large language models and AI platforms.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems, apps, and workflows.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure for AI workloads.
  • Develop and manage APIs, data connections, authentication methods, and access controls for AI services.
  • Evaluate AI models, platforms, tools, and approaches based on requirements.
  • Implement retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and related techniques.
  • Establish security controls to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with data privacy, cybersecurity, governance, and Responsible AI requirements.
  • Monitor performance, reliability, usage, and operating costs; optimize resources.
  • Troubleshoot issues and improve AI solutions throughout the lifecycle.
  • Maintain system architecture, configuration, security, and technical documentation.

Job description

This position requires U.S Citizenship, a DoD Security Clearance (NOT ACCEPTED - H1B, F1, or Greencard/Permanent Resident), and the ability to work onsite (remote/telework is not an option) - no exceptions.

Job Description
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications using large language models and modern AI platforms.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into new and existing enterprise systems, applications, and workflows.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure supporting AI workloads.
  • Develop and manage APIs, data connections, authentication methods, and access controls for AI services.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate AI models, platforms, tools, and technical approaches based on mission requirements.
  • Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and other techniques to improve solution accuracy and usefulness.
  • Establish security controls that protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with applicable data privacy, cybersecurity, governance, and Responsible AI requirements.
  • Monitor solution performance, reliability, availability, usage, and operating costs.
  • Optimize model performance, API consumption, and cloud resources to improve efficiency and control expenses.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement improvements throughout the AI solution lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture, configuration, security, operating, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with customers, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver effective AI solutions.
  • Remain current on emerging AI technologies, cloud services, security risks, and industry best practices.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required. Personnel may be required to obtain and maintain a TS clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Security Clearance for duration of employment.
  • Bachelor's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science.
  • 3 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is a MUST.
