Position Overview
The Future Artist Instructor will lead a creative, engaging art program designed to introduce children to foundational art concepts and a variety of artistic mediums. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inspiring young artists, guiding hands‑on projects, and creating a positive, encouraging classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver weekly art lessons suitable for children ages 5–12.
- Introduce students to basic techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media, and creative expression.
- Prepare materials and set up the classroom prior to each session.
- Provide step‑by‑step instruction while allowing freedom for individual creativity.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Encourage students, offer constructive feedback, and support their artistic growth.
- Communicate as needed with site staff regarding supplies, attendance, or class updates.
- Manage cleanup and ensure materials are stored properly after class.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, childcare, or similar).
- Background in art, design, or creative instruction preferred.
- Ability to lead a group, communicate clearly, and engage young learners.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage a structured classroom.
- Positive, encouraging attitude with a passion for helping children develop confidence through art.
Compensation
