Job summary

Budewig Intermediate in Houston, Texas is seeking a 2026-2027 Art Teacher to provide engaging visual arts learning that supports students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The teacher will guide students in developing artistic skills and understanding within a district-curriculum framework.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas visual arts teaching certificate, with ESL certification preferred or to be obtained within two years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas certificate for visual arts and level assigned.
• ESL certification preferred or ESL certification required within two (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in 2010-11 school year.
• Student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Plan assessments and adapt for diverse learning styles.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain safety.
• Integrate technology into instruction.
• Collaborate with staff on IEPs and district goals.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
