Job summary

Queen of Heaven Catholic School in New York is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and faith‑filled Art Teacher to serve PreK–8 for the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will inspire artistic expression, foster creativity, and support the school’s Catholic mission while developing students’ appreciation for the visual arts.

The 10‑month contract begins September 1 and runs through August 31. Salary begins at $37,600, with health insurance and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education, or related field required.
• Valid teaching certification preferred.
• Practicing Catholic preferred, but all qualified candidates welcome.
• Strong knowledge of various artistic media.
• Strong classroom management, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach art classes for PreK–8 in alignment with curriculum standards.

Position Overview

Queen of Heaven Catholic School is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and faith-filled Art Teacher to serve students in grades PreK–8 for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire artistic expression, foster creativity, and support the mission and values of Catholic education while developing students’ appreciation for the visual arts.

Responsibilities

• Teach art classes for students in grades PreK–8 in alignment with state and diocesan curriculum standards


• Develop engaging lessons that encourage creativity, artistic skill development, and appreciation of various art forms and techniques


• Plan and supervise hands-on art projects using a variety of media and materials


• Foster a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment


• Integrate Catholic values and themes into classroom instruction and projects when appropriate


• Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and student achievements


• Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with school art shows or special events


• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school programs and student success


• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school activities, and faith-based events, including after school and evening activities

Qualifications
