Job summary

St John Vianney Catholic School seeks an Art Teacher to educate students across grade levels on a part-time basis for the 2026-2027 year. The role emphasizes a love of art, art history, and the beauty of God’s creation through creative instruction.

The ideal candidate holds a related degree, an active Tennessee teaching license and/or Catholic educator credential, and at least 1 year of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music, art, education, or related field.
• Active Tennessee teaching license and/or Catholic educator credential.
• 1+ years of prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Art across grade levels and inspire students with love of art and art history.
• Provide training in skills of the fine artist and imitate master artists.

Job description

At St. John Vianney Catholic School, Christ stands as the heart of our program which proposes an integral human formation in theological, moral, and intellectual virtue for its students.

Under the supervision of the Principal, the selected candidate is responsible for playing a key role in fulfillment of St. John Vianney Catholic School’s mission of Catholic education by teaching Art classes at St. John Vianney Catholic School on a part-time basis for the academic year 2026-2027.

The Art Teacher will teach across grade levels, inspiring students with a love of the beautiful and a knowledge of art history. In addition to emphasizing the beauty of God’s creation and its imitation through art, the Art Teacher will also impart an excellent training in the skills of the fine artist, in imitation of a selection of master artists.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in music, art, education, or a related field, an active Tennessee teaching license and/or Catholic educator credential, and 1+ years of prior teaching experience are strongly preferred.
