Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools seeks a 2026-2027 Art/Music teacher for St. Mary Catholic School in Plano, IL. The position is part-time for PK-8 with a salary range of $15-$30 per hour and benefits not available.

The role involves delivering instruction, planning lessons, and promoting Catholic identity within the school community. Candidates must hold an Illinois Substitute License or an equivalent out-of-state certificate and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or related field.

Qualifications

• Illinois Substitute License or a valid out of state certificate from a state with which Illinois has reciprocity
• Holds a bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related discipline that is applicable to the teaching assignment.
• Practicing Catholic (preferred, required to teach religion or theology courses)

Responsibilities

• Strictly observe the Code of Professional Ethics
• Instruct children in assigned subjects, direct and guide students' learning throughout the day, and adjust instructional level to meet individual student needs
• Plan lessons, preparing materials, and engage in professional development and collaboration with staff
• Collaborate with parents to assist them in their role as primary educators of their children
• Effectively use technology to enhance student learning
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the principal or pastor

Education

Illinois Substitute License or valid out of state certificate

Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or related discipline
