Job summary

The Coatesville Area School District in Thorndale, Pennsylvania is seeking an Art K-12 Coordinator to oversee curriculum development and alignment district-wide. The coordinator will support teachers and staff and ensure the established curriculum is implemented with fidelity.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of teaching experience, valid elementary or secondary teacher certification, and strong planning/assessment skills; advanced graduate work is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess the use of assigned District curriculum programs for program effectiveness.
• Help administrators understand and utilize student assessment data to improve achievement.
• Collaborate with district personnel to select and maintain effective curriculum materials and methodologies.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of curriculum to enhance student achievement and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient operation.

Job Description

The K-12Art Coordinator will facilitate the planning, development, implementation, direction, and evaluation of the District's curriculum. The coordinator will serve as a resource for teachers and staff and will work to ensure established curriculum is implemented with fidelity.

Stipend: $1,404.00 per school year.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum five years successful teaching experience.
• Certification as an elementary or secondary teacher
• Practical classroom experience in curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and assessment.
• Advanced graduate work in education in areas of curriculum development, supervision, instructional practices, research, or principal certification preferred

Essential Duties:

• Coordinators will be responsible for assessing the use of assigned District curriculum programs and materials for the purpose of evaluating program effectiveness.
• Assists District and building administrators in understanding and utilizing student assessment data for the purpose of enhancing student academic achievement and meeting state, federal and District objectives.
• Collaborates with other district personnel (e.g. District administrators, building principals, teachers, etc.) for the purpose of selecting and maintaining effective curriculum materials and methodologies.
• Coordinates the development and implementation of the curriculum for the purpose of enhancing student achievement, meeting District objectives and maintaining compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
