Job summary

Faculty deliver instruction in a variety of art areas, including foundations, 2D disciplines, art history, and professional development, while participating in departmental duties and university committees.

Qualifications

• Classroom design, preparation, instruction, supervision, and other associated responsibilities, both in-person and in an online virtual classroom setting.
• Assessment of student performance, including the preparation, administration, grading, and evaluation of projects, papers, tests, and the reporting of grades.
• Maintain 15 office hours per semester.
• Advise students and participate in the registration process as assigned.
• Travel with students to conferences, events, and other cocurricular activities.
• Engage with SGU functions such as departmental responsibilities, committee assignments, and other assignments in accordance with department and/or university mission.

Job description

The responsibilities of this position include the ability to deliver quality instruction to students in a variety of art areas on a rotating basis. These include the following: art foundations (2-d design, color theory, and beginning-level drawing courses); two-dimensional disciplines (advanced levels of Drawing, all levels of Painting, and Printmaking), art history courses, and professional development courses. In addition, this position requires performing departmental duties and serving university committee functions.

Other duties as assigned in the performance of his/her responsibilities and as mutually agreed upon to the benefit of Sinte Gleska University.
