Job summary

The Untitled Space in Tribeca, New York, is seeking candidates for a full-time or part-time art gallery intern to support daily operations within a dynamic contemporary art program.

The ideal intern will have education in art-related fields, strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and familiarity with social media, MS Office, Wordpress, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

  • Educational focus in Art History, Art Business, Art Curating, Museum Studies, or related field.
  • Previous internship in gallery/museum or similar preferred.
  • Strong interest in contemporary art and artists.
  • Fluent in English; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with gallery operations
  • Assist with press releases and PR coverage for exhibitions
  • Assist with marketing materials, books, and catalogs for artists
  • Assist with research for upcoming exhibitions
  • Assist with social media marketing and communications
  • Assist with art handling and shipping

The Untitled Space (https://untitled-space.com) is currently reviewing applications for candidates available for a full-time or part-time position as an art gallery intern.

The Untitled Spaceis an art gallery located in Tribeca, New York in a landmark building on Lispenard Street. Founded in 2015, the gallery features exhibits of emerging and established contemporary artists exploring conceptual framework and boundary-pushing ideology through mediums of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, and performance art. The gallery is committing to exploring new ideas vis-à-vis traditional and new mediums and highlights a program of women in art.

Experience
  • Educational focus in Art History, Art Business, Art Curating, Museum Studies, or related field of study.
  • Previous gallery, museum, auction house, or similar internship experience is preferred, although not required.
  • Strong interest in contemporary art and artists
  • Thorough knowledge of contemporary art in general
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication
  • Positive attitude and strong social skills
  • Demonstrate consistent attention to detail while maintaining perspective
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word and Excel), Wordpress, and Adobe Creative Suite including basic knowledge of programs such as Photoshop, Bridge, InDesign
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, among others
  • Fluent in English, other languages such as French or Italian are a plus.
Daily responsibilities could include

Please note if you are available full-time or part-time. If you are applying for part-time please note which days per week you are available (Must be a minimum of 3 days/week, Hours 12-6pm). Internship applicants must be available for a minimum of 3 - 6 months full-time or part-time. All applicants must be available for a meeting at our Tribeca, New York location and live in New York City or within commuting distance.
