Hillsborough County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional 2, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) to assist school staff in caring for enrolled students while they are at school. The role works under the direction of the teacher and is supervised by the principal with evaluation based on performance.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional 2 duties under teacher supervision, ESE specialization beneficial.
• Must demonstrate reliability and professionalism in school environment.
• Commitment to district policies and student safety.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the daily schedule and assignments.
• Assists teacher in implementing instructional programs.
• Prepares and organizes instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
• Participates in inservice and professional development activities.
• Follows lesson plans and provides supervision when the teacher is absent.
• Provides care and supervision of students with disabilities as directed by the teacher.
• Establishes positive, professional communication among students, staff and parents.
• Assists with class management and with use of sign language or augmentation communication as directed by the teacher.
• Implements and supports instructional activities such as reading aloud, small groups, art and music activities.
• Performs light custodial duties relating to safety and hygiene as directed.
• Supports community-based instruction and training for students as directed by the teacher.
• Monitors student behavior using positive supports and interventions.
• Participates in parent involvement activities and conferences as directed.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
