Job summary

Beast Industries is seeking an Art Director to lead visual strategy for our viral marketing campaigns. You will partner with a Copywriter, report to a Creative Director, and shape concepts for content across properties, merchandise, and large-scale campaigns.

The role requires on-site work in Greenville, NC, with openness to remote/hybrid options. Expect high standards across lighting, casting, wardrobe, and production, and collaboration with multiple creative teams.

Qualifications

• Professional experience as an Art Director in entertainment, digital media, or advertising.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and art direction across mediums.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
• Strong proficiency with generative AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Midjourney) and prompt engineering.
• Attention to detail across production elements like lighting, casting, wardrobe, and sets.
• Deep understanding of social media and YouTube visual language and hierarchy.
• Experience collaborating with writers, Creative Directors, producers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong presentation and pitching skills with clear rationale for design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with a Copywriter to develop and pitch concepts for viral marketing verticals.
• Translate concepts into visual identities, design systems, and executions.
• Oversee and maintain high standards across lighting, casting, wardrobe, and sets.
• Pitch ideas and present visual concepts to Creative Directors and senior leadership.
• Create visual explorations to help teams evaluate ideas before production.
• Ensure all visuals meet brand production and editing standards.
• Collaborate with Production and Post Production teams to translate design systems into final outputs.
• Work with external designers, illustrators, animators, agencies, and vendors as needed.
• Direct emerging technologies, including generative AI, to create rapid comps and establish visual direction.

Role Overview

The Art Director is a conceptual and visual leader within Viral Marketing. You will work in tandem with a Copywriter partner as a core creative team to bring visual concepts to life across our content ecosystem. Reporting to a Creative Director, you will develop concepts for various art verticals and ensure our visual language remains exceptionally strong. Your work will span across owned properties, merchandise platforms, short-form content, and large scale campaigns.

The Role

You will be responsible for the overarching visual standard of our viral marketing campaigns. You will champion high standards of art direction, working closely across key creative elements such as lighting, casting, wardrobe, and set design. You will make sure all visuals adhere to our high quality standards across editing, sound design, and overall production. Success means pitching strong concepts, thoughtfully managing production details, and protecting the visual integrity of the brand.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with a Copywriter to develop and pitch concepts for various viral marketing verticals.
• Translate creative concepts into compelling visual identities, design systems, and executions.
• Oversee and maintain high standards across production elements including lighting, casting, wardrobe, and sets.
• Pitch ideas and present visual concepts clearly and persuasively to Creative Directors and senior leadership.
• Create visual explorations that help teams understand, evaluate, and communicate creative ideas before production.
• Ensure all visual outputs meet the strict production and editing standards of the brand.
• Partner with Production and Post Production teams to translate design systems effectively into finished executions.
• Work with external designers, illustrators, animators, agencies, and vendors when specialized creative capabilities are needed.
• Direct the use of emerging creative technologies including generative AI tools to create rapid comps, establish visual direction, and streamline workflows.

What You’ll Bring

• A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, visual judgment, and art direction across various mediums.
• Expert level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
• Strong proficiency in generative AI tools (such as Gemini and Midjourney), with advanced prompt engineering skills to effectively direct and refine visual outputs.
• Strong attention to detail, balancing speed with high quality and craftsmanship across production elements like set design, lighting, and casting.
• A deep understanding of the visual language and hierarchy of social media and YouTube.
• Experience collaborating closely with writers, Creative Directors, producers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong presentation and pitching skills with the ability to explain the reasoning behind creative decisions.

The base salary for this role ranges from $118,000 – $148,000, plus an annual target bonus and eligibility for our employee equity plan, plus comprehensive benefits.
