Job summary

BGSTR in New York City seeks an experienced Art Director to lead and execute design-driven projects across entertainment, broadcast, sports, and commercial clients. This is a hands-on role with direct design and animation work alongside Creative Directors and Producers.

You will manage multiple projects, mentor artists, and maintain high craft standards, while staying current with tools and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of design and motion graphics experience.
• Proven ability to lead multiple projects and teams.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong design sense and motion work.
• Deep knowledge of motion design, animation, and VFX pipelines.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects from concept through final delivery with hands-on design and animation.
• Develop and execute style frames, pitch materials, and final design solutions.
• Collaborate with Creative Directors and Producers on visual direction and timelines.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to artists; improve workflows and practices.
• Participate in pitch cycles with ideation, concepts, and client presentations.
• Partner with producers on scheduling, resources, and on-time delivery.
• Remain hands-on with design and motion work, not just oversight.
• Contribute to BGSTR's creative culture and craft, staying aware of new tools and AI workflows.
