Job summary

Chip Theory Games LLC in Plymouth, Minnesota is seeking an experienced Creative Art Director to lead our illustration team and oversee the art pipeline for board and card games. You will guide artistic direction across multiple products and ensure consistency with our brand standards.

You will hire and direct artists, collaborate with design and marketing, and deliver layout-ready assets for production. A strong system for task management is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven illustration excellence in board/card game market.
• Ability to communicate art direction via sketches, paint-overs, and written directions.
• Experience hiring and directing artists.
• Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong personal system for task and project management.
• Able to work productively and respectfully with co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Manage art pipeline: briefs, assignments, contracts, budgets, feedback, revisions, and asset delivery.
• Define and administer asset management for 2D and 3D sketches and final art.
• Collaborate to maintain a standard of art excellence across Chip Theory Games.
• Create and iterate designs for boxes, cards, chips, dice, rulebooks and components.
• Lead staff artists and engage freelance artists, including contracts.
• Other tasks as assigned.
