Job summary

Army Healthcare in the United States seeks an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to provide surgical and nonsurgical care for Soldiers, retirees and their families. You will diagnose musculoskeletal disorders, determine the best treatment, and use state-of-the-art equipment.

Whether Active Duty or Army Reserve, you will pursue ongoing education, seminars, and research to advance the field, with opportunities to participate in humanitarian missions and leadership training.

Qualifications

• Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy.
• Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates.
• Must have a current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
• Must be eligible for board certification.
• Must have completed at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to serve Active Duty.
• Must have a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical and nonsurgical care to treat Soldiers, retirees, and their families with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
• Use diagnostic skills to determine the best course of treatment for disorders, malformations, disease or injury.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment, participate in continued education, seminars and trainings, and conduct research to advance the field.
