Acuity International is recruiting for a weapons maintenance role in Erbil, Iraq, handling repair and upkeep of U.S. Government-issued weapons and specialized gear for DOS WPS III task orders in austere environments.

The job requires four years of armorer experience, factory certifications, English fluency, and U.S. citizenship, with travel and deployment prerequisites. Paid training is provided and security clearances are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Four (4) years of military (MOS 2111, 45 Bravo, or equivalent) or law enforcement armorer experience.
  • Must have factory Armorer certifications for weapons systems on TO.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport with 6+ months validity.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, writing, and communicating in English.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Department Weapons Program Officer for technical activities.
  • Maintain communications with the DS/PSP/DEAV Armory for technical activities.
  • Repair and maintain U.S. Government-issued weapons.
  • Install weapons equipment (optics, flashlights, grenade launchers, NVG, laser sights).
  • Test-fire weapons systems with a BFFOC-certified instructor and DS/RSO COR approval.

Primary Function

You would be responsible for maintaining and repairing all governmentissued weapons and specialized equipment. You would also manage maintenance reports and maintain regular communication with clients regarding inventory status and repair progress. This position supports Department of State Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders in austere and highrisk environments.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to the Department Weapons Program Officer from DS/PSP/DEAV for all workrelated technical activities.
  • Maintain open communications with the DS/PSP/DEAV Armory for all workrelated technical activities.
  • Repair and maintain U.S. Government-issued weapons
  • Install special technical equipment for Department weapons, including, but not limited to:
    • U.S. Government-provided optical devices
    • Flashlights
    • Grenade launchers
    • Night vision equipment
    • Laser sights
  • Test-fire all WPS weapons systems as required in the performance of their duties, on a case-by-case basis, and with approval by the DS/RSO COR. Test firing shall be conducted in coordination with a BFFOC-certified firearms instructor.
Job Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of military (MOS 2111, 45 Bravo, or equivalent) or law enforcement armorer experience.
  • Prior to deployment, must have factory Armorer certifications for weapons systems on TO.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
Training (Paid Training)
  • Attend and successfully complete the DOS Non-Protective Security Specialist Basic. If already completed and/or served on a DOS TO within the last 3 years, will be eligible to deploy directly to TO.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Must be approved for a Department of State Medical Clearance.
  • Must be able to do the following: walk, squat, crawl, run, quickly enter/exit vehicles, maneuver around obstacles, carry heavy equipment and personnel, and operate missionessential issued equipment requiring dexterity.
  • Must be able to operate and/or travel in vehicles on improved and unimproved roadways, as well as offroad.
  • Must be able to travel long distances in airplanes, helicopters, and road vehicles.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods with minimal breaks.
  • Must possess no medical or physical impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries considered dangerous or unhealthy.
