Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, invites applications for an Armed Security Officer in College Park, Maryland. Part-time role with Saturday and Sunday 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., serving the client site and protecting people and assets.

You will patrol on foot, vehicle, or bicycle, enforce site rules, and respond to alarms. A handgun permit is required for Maryland, with at least 3 years of security or law enforcement experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement, military, or private armed security experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
• Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
• Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
• Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
• Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
• Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary

Hourly pay rate $38.02
