Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer - Transit for Denver, CO. You will patrol transit facilities, manage access points, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors.

This full-time role requires prior security or law-enforcement experience, an armed guard card, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a military police officer, corrections officer, armed security professional, or law enforcement graduate.
• 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• DD214 with honorable discharge, associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Valid driver license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate transit personnel and/or public emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, access points, and perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Carry and maintain assigned firearms and other equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, company policies, and site-specific procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and policy violations accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized personnel.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3+ years of experience as a military police officer, corrections officer, or armed security professional, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Provide a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
