Pending successful pre-employment screening, including fitness and psychological evaluations, you will work under civilian security supervision with opportunities for advancement within Sentara Health Plans and Sentara Health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• State DMV Motor Vehicle Record and current valid driver's license required.
• 1 year of security, military or police experience preferred.
• Annual fitness assessment and psychological evaluations required.

During the transition period of 120 days all training and required certifications will be completed to allow them to progress to an Armed Security Officer role. The primary function of this transitional role is to further develop the necessary skills, training, and certifications required to carry a weapon and function as a fully Armed Security Officer.Education* High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)Certification/Licensure* State DMV Motor Vehicle Record and current Valid Driver’s license (Required)Experience* 1 year of security, military or police experience (Preferred)An offer of employment for a Security Officer Armed Recruit is contingent on passing the pre-employment screening process, which includes a fitness assessment and psychological evaluation. Failure to obtain these certifications within the prescribed timeframe will result in termination of employment.
