Job summary

Brownstone Security is seeking Armed Security Officers to work across various sites and posts in the AZ area. Officers will maintain safety and security for visitors and staff, with post orders detailing site-specific duties.

Responsibilities include patrolling, reporting, de-escalation, and safe handling of firearms. Required: 3+ years security experience, state permits, and a valid firearms license, with 18+ years of age and work authorization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of security experience.
• Valid Security Guard Permit as required by state law.
• Firearms Permit as required by state law.
• Chemical Weapons/Pepper Spray Permit as required by state law.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Documents establishing identity and authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Be alert and attentive while on duty to ensure personal safety and your ability to observe activities.
• Collaborate with all Brownstone Security and client staff.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Observe and report activities on and around the assigned post.
• Practice safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Report activities and irregularities with written or verbal reports.
• Provide courteous customer service while greeting individuals.
• Receive and pass down information from the officer you are relieving.
• Respond calmly to emergencies; follow policies and instructions promptly.
• Patrol premises and control access points.
• De-escalate hostile situations.
• Safely handle firearms and other authorized weapons.
• Log time and file reports using computer and smartphone apps.
• Additional duties defined in post orders.

Job Skills / Requirements

Brownstone Security is seeking Armed Security Officers to work a variety of sites and posts. Armed Security Officers will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Visitors and staff on the property assigned. Additional duties and responsibilities will be defined in the site-specific post orders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with all Brownstone Security and client staff, irrelevant of position rank or title.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Observe and report various activities on and around the assigned post.
• Practice all safety rules and procedures, at assigned post, as established by Brownstone Security to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Report designated activities and irregularities by submitting written and/or verbal reports.
• Making customer service a top priority – be pleasant and courteous while greeting all individuals.
• Receive and pass down relevant information from the officer you are relieving or being relieved by.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm manner, carry out policies related to the situation and respond to instructions with urgency as needed.
• Patrol the premises and/or control access points.
• De-escalate hostile or potentially hostile situations.
• Safely handle firearms and/or any other weapons authorized to carry.
• Clock in and out, log in and out for break and file reports using computer and smart phone apps.
• Additional essential duties will be defined in the Post Orders of the specific post for which the security officer is assigned.

Requirements

• 18+ years of age
• Security Guard Permit as required by state law.
• Firearms Permit as required by state law.
• Chemical Weapons/Pepper Spray Permit as required by state law.
• 3 years security experience
• Documents that establish identity
• Documents that establish authorization to work in the U.S

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Listen, understand, summarize, transfer and retain basic instructions and detailed information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain control of a firearm and/or other assigned weapons in a hostile situation.
• Ability to observe and report activity.
• Ability to walk or sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to write detailed reports.
• Ability to use computer and smart phone applications.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Customer Service experience
• 5 years Security experience
