Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Security Officer Armed Recruit for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This full-time position follows a day shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm with rotating weekends, serving as an initial phase before advancement to an Armed Officer role.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license and DMV record. Prior security or military experience is preferred; the pre-employment screening includes fitness and psychological evaluations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
• State DMV Motor Vehicle Record and current Valid Driver’s license (Required).
• 1 year of security, military or police experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Transition role with training to Armed Officer over 120 days.
• Complete required trainings and certifications to carry a weapon.
• Fulfill pre-employment screening including fitness assessment and psychological evaluation.
