Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA, is hiring a 1st Shift Armed Patrol Security Officer.

You will protect people and property, control access, patrol facilities, and respond to alarms and emergencies in a corporate setting. Requirements include 21+ years old, HS diploma or GED, valid LA armed officer registration or ability to obtain, and the ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and a firearms qualification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Louisiana LSBPSE armed security officer registration or ability to obtain.
• Complete firearms training and qualify with a 9mm handgun (80%+).
• Pass a psychological assessment.
• Pass background check and drug screen.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

• Verify identity of employees and visitors, print badges, and check visitors in through the Visitor Management system.
• Monitor and respond to alarms.
• Patrol buildings, parking areas and garages; secure doors, gates and windows.
• Act as first responder in emergencies and coordinate with police, fire and EMS.
• Enforce post orders and BCBSLA policies.
• Operate cameras, access control systems, radios and phones.
• Investigate and report unusual conditions; write daily activity and incident reports.
• Escort associates to vehicles in low-light conditions; assist with traffic control.
• Maintain a professional presence in lobbies and reception areas.
