Job summary

Silver Star Protection Group, headquartered in Rolling Meadows, IL, seeks an Armed Security Guard for a part-time, non-exempt role at a client site in Chicago. The guard will perform patrols, monitor surveillance, and respond to incidents while ensuring a safe environment for personnel and assets.

Applicants must hold a valid firearms license, FOID and PERC, and own a level 2 retention holster or higher. Prior armed security experience is preferred; flexibility for shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid firearms license or certification is required.
• Active PERC and FOID card are required.
• Must own a firearm with a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Previous armed security experience preferred.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills are essential.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at the client site, ensuring safety of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Be available to work various shifts and client sites as needed; schedules may change.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor surveillance equipment per client protocols.
• Accurately document incidents and report them for follow-up.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by SSPG leadership.
